Town Hall Meeting on Campus Climate and Inclusion with University of Florida President Kent Fuchs

WHAT: Town Hall Meeting on Campus Climate and Inclusion with University of Florida President Kent Fuchs

WHEN: Monday, March 20, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Emerson Alumni Hall – President’s Room, 1938 W. University Ave.

BACKGROUND: The Black Student Affairs Task Force was formed in May 2015 to address UF’s campus climate, the hiring and retention of black faculty and staff, and the declining enrollment of black students at the University of Florida. The task force spent a year listening and surveying black students, faculty and staff before creating a 245-page report and action plan. One of the recommendations in that plan is an annual town hall meeting with the UF administration. Monday’s event, sponsored by Black Affairs and the Black Student Affairs Task Force, will be the first town hall meeting as part of that plan. All members of the university community are welcome. Attendees will hear updates on this effort and have an opportunity to share concerns or suggestions.
